Recent quince or persimmon sightings? (PHX)

I found some quinces at Food City (Indian School & 19th Ave location), but at $1.39 apiece, I'm not eager to buy more there unless I find out that's more or less the going rate around town.

Also, I'm wondering if anyone has seen Hachiya persimmons yet this season. I saw Fuyus at AJ's (Camelback & Central) yesterday, but haven't seen Hachiyas yet.

I'd appreciate any leads y'all might have.

Not that I eat them a lot, but isn't Lee-Lee a place that carries persimmons quite frequently? I'm sure I've seen them there.

I don't know, but as a direction to think in, that makes sense.

Lee Lee's is a bit of haul for me, so I think I'll just hit the Asian markets near me (Loi Nam, Super L Ranch, and the place that kittyfood suggested) over the next month or so to see what turns up.

The Asian market next to Pho Bang at 17th Ave. and Camelback had a big bin of Fuyus yesterday. I didn't notice the price.

thanks, grrlscout and kittyfood. I've seen Fuyus in a couple of places now, but I've only seen Hachiyas at the Berkeley farmer's market, and even there the selection was extremely limited. I think maybe I'm jumping the gun on the Hachiyas by a couple of weeks.

I found quince at Baiz (thanks, tara!). At $2.29/lb, they were much less expensive by weight than the ones I bought at Food City (roughly $3.60/lb).

I saw persimmons at SuperTarget yesterday. I'm not sure what kind they were. They also had those itty-bitty pears.

I think we saw some quince at Baiz Market this weekend. I can't remember the price. I know - real helpful. :)
