Does anyone have any experience with the FoodSaver Vac 420?

Since I am generally only cooking for me and my wife, I tend to portion things out in sets of two. I don't think I would run up against the size restrictions of this smaller device. I guess I'm only worried about its quality as compared to the other models.

I have the same size one, without the accessory hookup and I use it a lot for everyday sealing stuff. Its a second machine- it was on clearance so cheap, it was less $$ then the roll of bag material it came with is how I ended up with-lol. I keep my bigger FS in the drawer, with the hoses connected to it so I can plug it in to reseal containers and it comes out if we're doing bigger stuff, but I love the little FS for everything else. If mine had the accessory port, I would consider putting my bigger one in the basement for as often as I use it. You don't get as many bells & whistles with the little FS, but they seem to pull just as good of a vacuum and make as good of a seal at the equally equipped bigger models. The only draw back is that you can't suction only as easily, with my full sized FS, I can cancel sealing pretty easily if I'm doing a canister.

I have one and love it! In fact my parents come over often so that they can use it too.
The bags are a bit pricey but I still really love mine.

Don't overlook the uses of the accessory hose. Bags can get expensive, but there are many cannisters that are reusable.

The mason-jar vacuum attachment has turned out to be one of my most used Food Saver accessories for refrigerator use.
