Chowhounders recs for (good) Sushi, lunch, $40/pp, Westside

Hello...

Need some recommendation to a good sushi place (no Sushi Factory or California Roll type places) for lunch:

Must have:

Location: within the confines of the Westside proper.
Price: Maximum $40 per person (tax, tip included and no alcohol).
Hours: open for lunch
No Omakase only - 2 out of 8 people aren't very well versed in the world of sashimi or nigiri.
Generous servings probably preferred (yes, I know that's kind of an oxymoron in the sushi world)

Thank you!

PS. No Asakuma please, I have heard their quality went down quite a bit the last year.

There have been quite a few recs for Kiriko sushi on Sawtelle. This thread claims that you can get a lunchtime omakase for $32pp, but it's not required.

You might also try Hide sushi on Sawtelle. Pretty cheap, not outstanding quality, but something for everyone.

I second Kiriko...it's excellent. I get the lunch omakase, but the other lunch options are wonderful too. I'd make reservations for 8 people since the place isn't big. Hide was a disappointment last couple times I went, so I'd stick w/Kiriko.
