Enoteca(Asheville) - light fare good option
a few weeks ago we were in need of a light meal, nothing too fancy or that would take too long and Enoteca came to mind. It is located in Biltmore Village next to Rezaz's and has a sort of bar w/ stools in the middle of the room as well as about 1/2 dozen small (2's and 4's) tables. It reminded me of somewhere I'd been in Paris or Italy. They call themselves a "wine bar" and while they serve coffees, beer, wine and desserts they also have a very nice light menu of soups, salads, panini and pasta and some "petite" entrees. By far the best part for me was the pick-your-own antipasto plate. You can pick from 1,3,5 or 8 different antipasto offerings from grilled vegetables, cured meats, cheeses, as well as olives and dips. We chose 5 for $13 and had taleggio (cheese), marinated olives, grilled eggplant, deviled eggs, and sopressata.
They are open from 9am - "late" . This would be a great place to have something after a tour of the Biltmore, dessert and a coffee or if you just want a nice a slightly casual place to have a light meal.

I could not agree more! I absolutely love Enoteca, I feel it is the cheapest and best kept secrect in town. The petite entrees are actually quite big! I can never eat a whole one myself. We often get the pomagranet walnut spread, and then split a lamb burger...top it off with a few glasses of wine and your are set!!
