Has anyone been to this place in Lil Tokyo and tried their kobe beef steak? Any reviews?

Yes, I've been there once and been trying to find a time to go back. Here's a link to a post with my reply in it (it's a ways down).

I went with my wife for their lunch special and actually had their rib eye and it was great. I really hope they stay open for the next time I go.

    highly recommend.

But is it really KOBE beef as it states? How can kobe cost $20? I'm lost...

Apparently there are degrees of "Kobe-ness". Japanese native cattle (wagyu meaning something like domestic cow) grown in Japan, wagyu grown over here, and wagyu/angus hybrids. Decreasing order of expense, and influenced by the way the cattle are raised and brought to market.

I don't know. I can't remember if it stated as Kobe beef. It was good though.
