Open all day with booze?

I usually skip the midday meal and often find myself hungry during the awkward few hours between lunch and dinner. I pretty much always want a glass of wine with my meal. Are there any places that are open during these hours on the westside, Santa Monica, Culver City, West Hollywood or Hollywood?

Today I went to the new Ugo Cafe (adjacent to Ugo in Culver City, quite good and certainly hit the spot). The places I usually end up in are Pizzeria Mozza, Ford's Filling Station, Tender Greens, Village Idiot (food is only okay, but fine when I'm homesick for the UK) or The Abbey (yucky food but I can't turn my nose up at a mojito in the sunshine). What other great places with good food and a decent wine list can I go to? Cocktails are a plus!

I've been reading some good stuff about The Point here. Thanks for the reminder! Do they definitely serve alcohol?

The Point DOES have great food but does NOT have a permit to consume booze on site.
            TO GO ONLY.
Which i guess, if you're hard core, might not be an issue.

    2. Billingsley's

      Los Angeles, CA 90064
      M-F 11:30am-10pm; S-Su 4:30pm-10pm

Not sure about the wine list, but they do great cocktails.

Father's Office opens at 5 or 5:30pm, the others sound good! BLD is one of my favorites.

Emme, what do you like at Michel Richard? I've enjoyed boxes for the Hollywood Bowl from there (very good and generous portions) but I've never eaten in the cafe.

If your request extends to weekends also, FO opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday.
The Wilshire's HH starts at 5p M-F. Their Kobe sliders make a pretty good snack, especially if you can wrangle up a little horseradish for them.

Great salads (veggie is my fave), omelettes, quiche, and my ex LOVED the broiled goat cheese appetizer. Of course, good pastries as well (despite my lack of being able to really indulge in them :(

Thank you so much, the goat cheese app sounds divine.

          1. Only beer and wine, but how about 3 Square?

You know, I live a couple of blocks from 3 Square and always forget to go there! It's perfect for my needs.

            2. I'm often looking for this type of place as well. One other possibility is Ocean Avenue Seafood in Santa Monica, which is open all day (happy hour starts at 4) and has a very nice wine list, especially whites. In Beverly Hills, there's Enoteca Drago, which has great wines by the glass. I like to sit at the bar anytime I go, and it's also where I discovered what is currently my top favorite Italian wine, a Nero D'Avola blend called Ramione. You can also do wine flights there. Also in Beverly Hills is the Bar on 4 at Neimans, which is only open till 6, but it's good for those in-between hours. There are some good wines by the glass and cocktails--a mean Key Lime Martini enhanced with a splash of champagne!--and you can look out over Beverly Hills.

              1. The old Farmer's Market (various spots w/ food to carry to the bars)

                Bottle Rock ?

                Pizzicatto (sp?????) in Brentwood

Salt Creek Grill (El Segundo) (so-so food) (one day a week they have a 1/2 price, wines by the glass happy hour.)

                1. I'm the same way. I usually skip lunch and have an early dinner. In Santa Monica, you can't go wrong with IVY AT THE SHORE on Ocean Ave. Open all day with a full bar serving tropical cocktails.
