Barbacoa - Curried Goat?

Had a bit of a mix-up at the local Supermercado and ended up with a little over a pound of barbacoa, roasted goat meat (I wanted a little goat but a pound of carnitas, they reversed the order as my Spanish is horrible). By itself, it's a little too strong to me, but in general I do love curried goat, more Caribbean style than Indian curried goat. Do any of you have any ideas about how to go about turning this pound of pre-cooked goat meat into a great curried goat dish?

  1. Make a potato curry add shredded or cubed goat, cook a bit. How strongly seasoned is the Barbacoa?

      The shredded goat just has the somewhat gamey goat taste, not a lot of other flavoring.

    2. a short cut secret some restaurants use with goat/mutton curries is to slow boil goat/mutton until tender and keep it aside and add it into curries as they are ordered because goat is tough unless slow cooked. In principle you could use the same idea and cook your curry and add in the goat when the oil separates from the gravy and the gravy is thick to your liking. Don't add it too early or stir it because it would shred. I mean here Indian restaurants...I know you want Caribbean, but hey Indians brought curry and roti and all to the West Indies :-)

        That's what I what I was thinking here are a couple of curry powder recipes

        Jamaican Curry Powder
        1 tbsp cumin seeds (15 ml)
        1 tbsp mustard seeds (15 ml)
        1 tbsp fenugreek seeds (15 ml)
        1 tbsp anise seed (15 ml)
        1 tbsp black peppercorns (15 ml)
        1 tbsp coriander seeds (15 ml)
        1/2 tbsp allspice (7 ml)
        1 tbsp turmeric powder (15 ml)

        Caribbean Curry Powder
        1 ounce coriander seeds
        2 ounces cumin seeds

        1 ounce ground ginger
