I will challenge anyone to find better tacos in California. I have probably tried almost a hundred over the years in Southern California and Jesse's is the best I've had. The place holds maybe a dozen people, Half at the counter where you watch them make Mexican style taco's from various meats. Salsa, cilantro, onions a squeeze of lime. No lettuce, tomatoes or cheese here. My favorite is the Pastor and the Carne Asada comes in a close second.

This place has been here for decades in Oxnard at the corner of Oxnard Blvd and 7th st.
It's next door to the Golden Chicken Inn which used to be an opium den (I kid you naught) before it was converted to a Chinese American restaurant in 1929 and has been serving Chop Suey and Chow Mein ever since. So my advice is to eat at Jesse's and climb the stairs to check out the old opium den while you look at their menu.
