Has anyone here tried it? I saw a blurb about it today in the latest F&W -- hadn't seen LC's SS line before, but I love my cast iron LC pots and would consider their SS line.

I have yet to see and went looking for at W&S after I got a coupon from Le Creuset advertising it. The coupon was good for 20-30% off SS sets but as of yet have not seen it. I would also like to know if anyone has seen it and felt the quality or even better if they have cooked with it. I plan to buy a few pieces of SS soon , probably All Clad but I want to wait and see how LC's line matches up.

On a side note, LC now makes stainless steel handles to replace the plastic ones on their enameled cast iron ware. Looks great, works great, especially on the no knead bread recipes.

What you received is not a coupon. It is a postcard announcing the launch of the Stainless line. The 20-30% off is the "set discount" that is always in place at factory stores. Your discount amount depends on how many pieces of cookware you buy.
The Stainless line is a big hit in Canada.

I just picked up an 8 piece set at Costco the other day ($300) and am about 90% satisfied. It's 18/10 stainless with an aluminum core rim to rim.; riveted handles and overall a very good hand feel. My main concern is the stainless steel. If I use any salt in these pans the are marred with a white residue. It in no way seems to affect the food I cook but it is to say the least annoying and disappointing. Has anyone else found this true?

Cberumen,

Is this your first stainless steel cookware? The white residue you mention is completely normal. It happens to the cheapest to the most expensive stainless steel cookware. You can remove it using white vinegar or Bar Keeper's Friend.

Or just don't even worry about it.
