east 80's good place to study and have coffee

i used to go to dtut. it closed.. any suggestions for a cafe that will let you relax with coffee without the breathing down your neck?

    Try the excellent Rohr's-86th just east of 2nd Ave.

      Seconded. Rohr's is a great study place--always seems like the vast majority of the customers in there are studying.

      Maybe Andre's Cafe. Great coffee and desserts. The wait staff seemed pretty low key.

        There's a cute place that just opened - I think it's an Alice's Tea Cup? But not sure...Haven't been, but my sister, who works from home and sometimes cafes, was "ooohing" over it when we passed by.
