Good pre/post Kips Bay movie dinner

t

Any suggestions on good places for a low key dinner date before/after a movie at Kips Bay?

I have been to Waterfront Ale House which is a good pub. Any other recommendations?

Thanks

There's Pasticcio, a good Italian, on 3rd just south of 31st, and across the street is a Tibetan place, if you want something more "exotic." There's also Waterfront-type place, though more upscale, on 2nd and 32nd -- perhaps someone else can come up with the name?

Benjamin's on 33rd & 2nd Ave is good for pre/post dinner. They have an early bird special before 7 and if you go after 7, save your movie stub-they give a small discount on the bill.

We've been to Mexico Lindo once. The food was rather ordinary -- not bad, but not good enough to tempt me to go back. I wish it were a lot better because it's very conveniently located for us.

El Parador on 34th has excellent Mexican. Also on 34th is Trattoria Alba for good italian.

Ali Baba Turkish Cuisine on 34th btw 2nd and 3rd...amazing food that's reasonably priced.

I'm stuck on the doner kebab. I'll have to expand my selection soon!

I absolutely love Penelope on Lexington near 30th, but I'm not sure if they're open for dinner (I've only had lunch there, and the food was always wonderful).

Penelope is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. Same menu for lunch and dinner.

The one item I loved at Penelope's - the calamari, avocado, and papaya salad - is sadly off the menu until summer returns. So long until then.

I LOVE the veggie burger salad. I order it every single time I go to Penelope.

there a lot of good spots on 3rd ave in the low 30's, upper 20's. banc cafe and ThaiNy are both good spots.
