Anyone know the best place to find Polynesian/Hawaiian ingredients in this area?

I don't know of a Hawaiian or Polynesian store. I'd have to say you'd probably be able to find the hard to find ingredients at an Oriental market. Things like soy sauce, sesame oil, panko(bread crumbs), taro, ginger(a lot cheaper there than the regular grocery stores), oyster sauce, bean paste, five spice powder etc etc .... are some of the ingredients that seem to be in Hawaiian/Polynesian recipes. You will probably have to go to a regular market for the some of the other ingredients.

I would recommend these 2 markets, or maybe both depending upon if you can find everything you need at one, they are the fairly bigger markets and close to each other, there is another new one across from Chinatown Market, but I've never been there before.

    Kim Long Market
    511 Cherry St
    Kansas City, MO 64106

    Chinatown Market
    202 Grand Blvd
    Kansas City, MO 64106
    (816) 472-6363

I was just in Chinatown Market this afternoon and in the "Japanese" aisle, I noticed they had a couple of bottles of Aloha brand sauces (soy sauce, huli huli, guava, etc).
