New Thai places on Danforth (Greenwood - Coxwell)

Lee's Thai Spring Rolls and Thai On Danforth have identical takeout menus. Anyone been to either yet? There's also the place opposite the Money Mart, and Jean's vegetarian as well, and just further East there's another place whose name escapes me.... BUT is any of it any good? These identical menus remind me of those generic Chinese red chicken ball joints.

I think lilith hit the nail on the head with why I didn't like Lee's so much -- too sweet.

We also have Family Thai on Danforth. I'm not an expert on thai food but we've ordered from them a few times and it was pretty tasty.

I know it's north of Danforth, but I do have to put my vote in for Thai Fusion on Coxwell, just south of O'Conner. Their Thai spicy noodle is excellent, as well as their mango salad, and I've always enjoyed their soups. The spring rolls are tasty, but not excellent. The Phad Tai is good, but not traditional, but really what Phad Tai is? They do Take out and have good lunch deals.

There is Tiny Thai as well. I find most of their stuff too sweet as well, although their seafood salad is quite nice. And the service is great. I would link them in, but I have no idea how to, but they are at 1405 Danforth near Coxwell.

I much prefer Thai on Danforth (tho I haven't been in a year or so) over Lee's. Lee's was much too sweet for me, I felt as if they accidentally dropped a sugar pot in their curry pot or something:( Well, actually, everything I ordered there were overly sweet, so I guess they dropped a sugar sac in the whole kitchen... Thai on Danforth is not great but decent.
My favourite Thai place has always been Thai Magic, but then again I haven't had the chance to go there in ages so I don't know how they are doing now.

Ha, ha! I noticed the identical menus too last week, when I found the Thai On Danforth menu in my mailbox, gave me pause. Wondered if a certain range of Thai places get their take-out menus produced by the same place.

I've only tried Lee's Thai Spring Rolls, which was delivered quickly and piping hot, but I wasn't that impressed, but then I'm not a big Thai eater. Lee's has certainly received favourable mentions by others on this board.

East of Woodbine is a newish place called Basil Thai Kitchen, run by a Burmese owner. Haven't tried it yet, but been meaning to pick up a menu (hope it's not the same as the others). It was mentioned in this thread, the last post of which makes me believe the owner reads this board -

Baisl Thai Kitchen has been around at least two years. It is the previous location for Jean's Vegetarian Thai food, which the Burmese guy bought the last time Jean and Harry went into "retirement"
