study cafes in Palms/Culver City?

flavasista Oct 11, 2007 12:57 PM

Hello fellow chowhounders.

I'm looking for a cafe (not Starbucks/Coffee Bean) near Palms/Culver City area where I can study / sip on coffee / & munch for hours on end without getting bothered.

I live near Fraiche/Ford's Filling Station - recs would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

How about Venice Grind, on Venice near Grand View?
Free wifi. No sneering, 'move it along' attitude. Seems to fit the bill.
I like that they have a patio - for nice weather - but the seating is more comfy inside.
SLOW service - but if you are there to study anyway, that shouldn't be a big deal.

What about the Coffee Conservatory? It's in downtown Culver City on Washington Blvd at Jasmine. Since it's in downtown there's free wifi. My study days are long gone (sniff) but this might work, and sounds like it's within walking distance of you. OH! I just thought of an even better place. Grand Casino on Main St. in Culver City. I wouldn't think they'd bother you at all, it's a real hang-out place, and has a nice sidewalk area.Bonus...cheap delicious pastries and other food (chicken empandas are especially good.)
