I am planning on going to the Waterfire show this Saturday. If anyone else was wondering what it was http://www.visitkc.com/waterfire/. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to go for an early dinner in this area before the show. Thanks!

  1. Thanks for reminding me about Waterfire- I was so upset that I missed the one in September and people were telling me how cool it was. I've got a bbq going on that Saturday evening, hopefully I can drag myself over to the Plaza afterwards to check it out.

You can try the Noodle Shop on 59th st which is just south of Plaza and avoid all the traffic and jammed restaurants:

There's also Domo in Brookside, The Mixx by the Plaza library and Accurso's in that same area but it's been so long since I've been to Accurso's. I've never been to Axiois in Brookside but some people like their French food.

Oh, waterfire! So cool. I want to go - thanks!!!
Accurso's would be my vote if I were you. or, the Italian place right across from it - I think osteria something and it's supoosed to be good, too.

I heard Spin was really good pizza. And I think you can bring your own bottle of wine, probably a corkage fee, but much cheaper than buying one.

Bur really not anywhere close to the Plaza.

Oops, my mistake, the person that told me about it said that's where it was.

nope -- it's at about 119th and Metcalf. But really good! You should go there!

So kinda close to Oak Park mall?

Not really... it's across from the Sprint Campus. It's one of our favorite "usuals".

Oh, Spin is not too far from where I live, I think I'll give it a try some day :D

    2. My vote would be Grand Street Cafe... always a good experience. Right across Main from the Plaza.
For a good view of the show, you might try Re:Verse. I know they have good drinks, never eaten there though.

      1. Thank you all for the suggestions. I think I'll look for all these restaurants when I get there and check out their menus and locations :D For those who are going, I just hope we don't get rained out, and enjoy the show!

        1. Another last minute suggestion would be Bo Ling's in the Board of Trade Building.
