San Francisco Dinner Sunday
I am in San Fran this weekend for a conference and am taking a couple of MD's and wives to dinner Sun nite....conference is downtown, but I am looking for the best off the beaten path, non-tourist, casual, best food at a reasonable price (50/head or less) in the vicinity or a fairly close cab ride away.....
Seafood or bistro or just the best local joint around is what I am looking for....all suggestions are much appreciated....Mike

Sunday can be tough but there are some good places open-
Pesce - is great for seafood and Venetian specialties, small plates, neighborhood spot in Russian Hill- nice atmosphere
2227 Polk Street @ VallejoPescheria- for a more lively atmosphere, small and compact seafood spot over in outer Noe Valley- on Church and 20th street.
Fresh seafood with Italian influences and some straight forward dishes and pasta. This is a fun spot and more casual. Gets crowded and a bit loud. I think they close at 9:30.Hayes Street Grill - another great option they close at 8:30. Low key all around great seafood. Located in Hayes Valley on Hayes Street at Gough and Franklin. You could have a drink at Absinthe up the street or eat at Absinthe Brasserie & Bar might be just the place as well.
