Suggestions for resturant for romantic dinner

I want to take my GF out to dinner some where nice on Saturday night, but she is mainly into french/italian food, and that is not something I have much knowledge of in the Chicago land area. My first thought was to go to north pond, given the reviews, but they are booked up. Do any of you have any ideas?

  1. Go to Sweets & Savories. Get the white truffle menu.

    1. If you want Italian, I would suggest Merlo on Maple. The food is authentic and delicious and the atmosphere is very romantic and quiet. When you make the reservation, tell them that you would like a special table. They have always been very accomodating when I make the same request.

      1. Very sorry to hear that North Pond is booked up. I really believe it is the most romantic spot in Chicago but that certainly doesn't mean you can't find something equally special. Some other options to consider: Aigre Doux, Blackbird or maybe Le Lan. Le Lan is French/Asian. Depending on your idea of romantic, Blackbird may or may not fit the bill. I know some people don't like how close the tables are to each will feel like you're a part of the conversations on either side of you. All of these restaurants will run about the same price as North Pond and have excellent food. Good luck on your planning!
