High-quality start-to-finish meals are few and far between, so it's a big deal when you eat one, especially at an upstart trendy place. My fiancee and I had dinner at Public on Elizabeth St. tonight (10/8) and it was great. No complaints about the service; wine list was small but adequate and not overpriced (we also drank some excellent NZ and AUS flights in the the "Monday Room" beforehand). But the food really stood out. We had the following:

Starters:
- Mushroom ceviche with miso aubergines and ginger ponzu sauce
- Marinated white anchovies on quinoa croquettes with spicy saffron aioli
- Grilled kangaroo on a coriander falafel with lemon-tahini sauce and green pepper relish

Entrees:
- Pan-seared Tasmanian sea trout on a salad of fennel, green apple and pistachio with preserved lemon yogurt and fennel pollen
- Roast lamb sirloin on crispy goats cheese polenta with saffron braised baby vegetables and harissa aioli

Dessert:
- Sticky toffee pudding with Armagnac ice cream and hot caramel sauce

I can't complain about anything listed above. It was just all really good.
