Tao or Morimoto for my Birthday?? Please help me decide!

Tao has more of a scene with music blasting. The atmosphere is dimmer and you can probably get away with being loud. Morimoto has better food but the dining room is brighter and not as noisy.

I am not a fan of Tao. They have a giant buddha, it's a scene and very popular on opentable.com. Food is okay. It depends what you are looking for, it might be fun for a birthday.

Me neither, I never understood why is it so popular on opentable!

It was on Sex and the City.

I've never watched SATC either. People who do told me Tao was featured in an episode.

Morimoto is so overpriced and not nearly as good for the food.

If you are looking for one of the mega-restaurants, I'd go for Buddakan before Morimoto or Tao.

I completely agree with doona. I enjoyed Buddakan, Nobu and En Japanese Brasserie all more than Morimoto. I really didn't find the food that great for the price.

I agree with you. I think Moimoto is very overpriced and while good, is not outstanding at any price.
