Nobu? Don't hear it mentioned much anymore

Is Nobu (either Nobu or Nobu 57) still worth the price, or are their similiar experiences that are better? I looked at the Nobu57 Menu and it looks great, I'm just wondering if this restaurant is a bit of a thing of the past.

Thanks

I just went back to both Nobu proper and Nobu 57 within the last 3 months. The food is still fantastic and I believe the price is warrented.

That being said I don't think it get sdiscussed much anymore because it's kind of become almost.... chainy? The first time I had the rock shrimp tempura years ago I thought I had diea and gone to heaven!

This past time when I had them they had lost their excitement. The place does such a business and has such a high turnover of customers it doesn't really "feel special" anymore.

This is just my opinon of course.

That is sort of the feeling I got. I guess in NY there are just so many great restaurants that it is hard to keep the true excitement going for that long. Any suggestions for the new Nobu?

The King Crab tempura was awesome. They only have it at the 57 location. Otherwise the miso cod and jalapeno yellowtail sashimi are always winners.
