Drive-in restaurants/diners in MD/PA/VA/WV?
My husband has been watching too much Food Network (esp. Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives), and now he's DYING to go to a drive-in restaurant. I've never been to one, myself!
Are there any in the area? I've done some research on these boards as well as online, and everything I find appears to have closed. I found one drive-in movie theatre, but we're just interested in a diner/restaurant, not a movie.
Any leads are greatly appreciated! We're in the DC Metro area, but I'm willing to make a day trip out of it if the drive is scenic and fun.

These are hard to come by. It's a two hour trek out to Wright's Dairy-Rite in Staunton, VA, but it's the real deal. http://www.dairy-rite.com/ We go there on our annual fall color trip down I-81. Sonic doesn't even have a nearby drive-in - I think the nearest may be in Fredericksburg, VA, or York, PA.

This is a lovely road trip. Take I-66 till it ends at I-81. Take I-81 south and get off at the first exit, 298, and hop on Route 11 South. You'll go through Strasburg, Woodstock (stop at The Market on Main Street for excellent old-style treats to bring home), Edinburg, Mt. Jackson, Harrisonburg. On the way back from Wright's you can take I-81 to speed your trip home. We'll be making this trip Friday -- we live out there half-time -- and ending at the Dairy-Rite, so maybe we'll see you there! The leaves should be beautiful....
