Butchers between Glendale & Santa Clarita

I just moved from the west valley where I was lucky to have Jim's Fallbrook Market. I moved to Santa Clarita and work in Glendale. Are there any butchers between Glendale & Santa Clarita that have prime meat? I can't find Prime beef in Santa Clarita, and was curious if there were any butchers i could go to on my way home from Glendale.

Gelsinger's is still around in Montrose, or you can go to Schreiner's on Verdugo and Ocean View -- while best known for their sausages, they have some fantastic meats. Gelsinger's used to handle prime meat when they had a storefront on Honolulu, not sure if they do anymore... and if you go to Schreiner's, you can nip next door to Berolina Swedish Bakery and get great bread to go with that meat. (Try the limpa -- it's worth it.)

It's somewhat off your commute, but HOWS Markets, the scion chain of the late lamented Hughes Markets, stock prime meats at a very decent price. They stock both Choice and Prime but they are clearly labelled, and the butcher's case carries only Prime I believe. There is a new one on Lankershim in NoHo between Chandler and Magnolia. I shop their specials every week, a few weeks ago I picked up some Prime Rib-eyes for 5.99/lb.

Thanks for both of the replies. I picked up some really nice duck/pork sausage from Harmony Farms last night. I've heard of Hows before, but didn't know about the new location.

If you go home via the 2 and the 210 (I live in Glendale, it is how I always make your drive) you go right by a wonderful butcher. Harmony Farms in La Crescenta. If you know exactly what you want, call and they will order or prepare just about anything you want in advance. Great place, very nice people. They also have a great selection of game, from alligator to ostrich to boar to kangaroo, etc etc
