pub crawl in the quarter - one night

some friends and i are meeting in new orleans for one night on our way to baton rouge for the auburn/lsu game in a week and a half. we are staying in the quarter and will be crawling around, drinking beers, but i will need a fix of new orleans food.

i have been to n.o. many times and can navigate myself around the quarter, but i have not been there since 2003. give our agenda, places like arnaud's, k-paul, nola, mr. b's, galatoire's, two sisters, etc., etc. are out.

looking for informal places (and trying to keep us out of hooters, bubba gump's, et al). places like acme, the oyster counter across the street from acme, enjoy, the brew pub in jackson square, are more our speed this trip. i am always up for something new.

any other suggestions? thanx.

thanx everyone. we went to coop's on thursday night and it was exactly what we were looking for. the gumbo and the aligator and rabbit jambalaya were big hits.

on friday, three of us had lunch at redfish. crab claws and a dozen oysters for apps. gumbo. bbq shrimp entree. all were very good.

No shortage of (well deserved) good reviews of Coop's on this board.

I'll third Coop's, an awesome place to start (or end) a pub crawl.

Redfish Grill on Bourbon. The bbq oysters are awesome.

Yes. Coop's Place for food and bar, that whole block has good bars, and leads you right to the foot of frenchman st.
