I think your best choices are Walker's in Hayne Blvd. It is in New Orleans East and are the purveyors of the Cochon De Lait po boy of Jazz Fest fame. Also, The Joint in Bywater and on Poland Ave serves some great BBQ, as well as the Ugly Dog Saloon in the Warehouse District. All are very casual and reasonably priced.

Walker's is wonderful, and the cochon de lait poboy is not to be missed. I also like Hillbilly in Kenner.

        The Joint. w/o question.

I must make it to walker's someday, the c de lait poboy is the first thing i eat every year at jazzfest.
