Ethiopian for 14

bpcohen Oct 7, 2007 02:19 PM

Seeking a great Ethiopian restaurant for 14 people where the food is very good, but also where the group can sit relatively comfortably and hold a conversation without shouting. Interested in comparisons between Meskerem and Queen of Sheba. Thanks.

I've been to Meskerem with a group of 8 and they accomodated us nicely. Besides the front room (which is where I'd only ever sat until that point) there is another room (who knew?). It wasn't as nicely decorated -- in fact it was downright bare. But it was quite large. They pulled a bunch of tables together for our group and we mostly had the whole room to ourselves (which was good 'cause we could get loud). So they'd probably do a group of 14 pretty easily. I'd say to call ahead -- that's what I did and although the person on the phone sounded clueless, it apparently got through because the table was set up for us when we arrived.

I've never eaten at Meskerem but I have been to Queen of Sheba many times. I don't think that QoS could accomodate 14 people--at least not at one table. Others will have to weigh in about Meskerem's capacity.

For comparisons of the food, please use the "search this board"--it's been discussed many times before.
