Capital Thai In Albany What do you think?
Found a new Thai place in Albany, Capital Thai by the Home Depot on Central Ave. I haven't had a lot of Thai experience, but have eaten their a few times.
So far its been clean with fresh ingredients. Their sushi is OK and all over a positive place.
I prefer the Vietnamese at Vans, but Capital Thai is a lot cheaper. I know comparing thai to vietnamese is kind of like apples and oranges, but we don't have a lot to go on yet here.
What do you think?
I go there regularly it's the most decent place around here in my opinion.Get the papaya salad or spicy beef salad!
Granted I have only tried Sukhothai on Lark, Nois on Central and Bangkok on Wolf..out of those 4.. Bangkok is the absolute WORST! As a thai person I would like to see that place get shut down. Sukhothai has great beef or duck noodle soup..everything else is ..eh... and Nois has great duck dishes and the tastiest version of the the dessert sticky rice with mango despite the fact that the sticky rice is clearly nuked and hardened on the edges. There's supposed to be a new place opening up near Shalimar according to the waitress from Sukhothai.
I've had my eye on Capital Thai since before it opened. But haven't gone yet because Sushi Tei (1800 Western Ave, at back end of L-shaped shopping strip) has very good sushi for $1/each (promotion through December!). So I keep going back there. Weekly.
I like Van's for Vietnamese.
Yoshi Sushi in Latham is the best sushi in the area.
