Have you tried Bistro Itzocan - it's a little further south - Lex and 101st I think. Authentic Mexican ingredients - huitlacoche, etc. prepared using French techniques? May not be what you are looking for, but truly wonderful.

Forgot about that one - I actually prefer the E. 97th Street one, but I know others think the reverse.
