Potato Tacos, who has the best?

So, Burger Boy has a day of fun with a vegetarian girl, not a vegan. Where should I take her for THE BEST potato tacos, we will be doing the Brewery Art Walk, downtown/eastside, so somewhere close to that? Thank You Everyone!

Loteria at the Farmers Market. They also have potato taquitos, something you don't see every day.

I personally love the potato tacos at My Taco in Highland Park, but that might be a little far. So how abot Cypress Park, right off the 110 at Avenue 26? El Atacor #11. I heard about that place on Chowhound and those tacos are pretty good, but not as good as the ones at My Taco. Although there's been talk that the ones at My Taco may have some chorizo flavoring in it.

Alegria, on Sunset in Silver Lake, has great potato tacos -- they are rolled tacos. I've found Alegria to be somewhat annoying at times (their no-substitutions policy, for one), but their potato tacos have remained consistently good.

They also have potato flautas at El Gran Burrito, on Santa Monica just east of Vermont, which are very tasty.

They also have eggplant and potato tacos at Malo, on Sunset in Silver Lake, which friends of mine like, although I haven't tried them personally.

(Can you tell I hang out with vegetarians?)

Not to mention that gigantic burrtito! Those potato tacos are a perfect side to a giant burrtito!

Alegria not only has rolled potato tacos ("Tacos a la Crema") but often times at lunch they have a lunch special of the more apropos hard taco stuffed with potatoes, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. I don't know which version I like better there!

Alegria is closed on Sundays but during the week and Saturdays they are open for lunch.

I know that El Atacor has the rep on this debate but every weekend El Huarache Azteca
in Highland Park has killer potato quesadillas. These are made to order outdoors.
The quesadillas are deep fried masa stuffed with beautifully spiced papas. I think these
are way better--and suprisingly less greasy--than El Atacor. You should also try
the rajas and squash blossom quesadillas while you are at it.

The taco stand in frot of Verdugo Bagels in Eagle Rock/Glassell Park has great potato tacos. I reviewed it, as well as my top 10 NELA street vendors at www.yorkblvd.com
