ISO Recipe using farmer cheese w/ fruit

I was looking around a deli and saw blocks of farmer cheese with fruit and nuts in it. It has cherries, golden raisins and walnuts. The man behind the counter said to serve it on crackers, but it seems like I could do more with it. Has anyone used it as part of a dish?

  1. I use farmer's cheese in blintzes - sounds like that variety with fruit & nuts would also be great in blintzes - yum!

    1. i wouldn't mess with it too much...sounds like there's plenty of flavor there.

lightly toast your favorite bread [cinnamon raisin might be ideal here], spread some cheese on the toast, and pop it under the broiler for a couple of minutes until it's melted & slightly golden.

call me crazy, but it could also be delicious with nut butter and a little honey...or some cherry preserves.

      1. Second the other posts - I usually get the cheese plain, add nuts and dried fruit, and use it as a filling for crepes. Substitute it for anything baked that calls for a sweet ricotta filling...You could also try it as a topping for an arugula/bitter greens salad (this won't work as well if the cheese also has added sugar).
