Detroit: Metro Times Dining Issue

coney with everything Oct 6, 2007 07:59 AM

Has anyone else picked up this week's issue? I've always enjoyed their food content, and think their reviews are generally spot on (they also do some very good editorial work--they were weeks ahead of the national media on the Blackwater stuff)

We're really intrigued by some of the breakfast spot recommendations, but I wonder why they didn't include Betty Ross II.

I honestly don't really trust Metro Times when it comes to restaurant reviews, *especially* those done by Jane Slaughter, which is her *actual name*. She has what I consider to be very poor ability to judge, and her tastes and mine differ quite radically. Still, it's amazing how often she'll dislike a place, and I'll like it, or she'll like a place, and I feel that it's either mediocre or downright bad.

I suppose that their other food critics might not be as bad as she is, but she creates a stink over that whole brood.

Because it stinks? I tried it one time a couple of years ago after reading a review. I found their meat quality to be very inferior. I would not go back.
