deb and i popped in for lunch after we saw the huge line at remo's.
it was hot and humid. beer (moretti) for me, pinot grigio for deb. if you haven't been, the room is both inviting with it's open window/door setup on the summer street extension and pleasing to the eye as you take in the hardwood floor, high ceiling, linen-draped tables, impressive flatware, table florals and so on.
service was prompt and attentive. tables are generously spaced. we shared an antipasto of fried calamari (lightly dusted with flour and pan seared?). very good. the calamari was soft and flavorful. nice way to kick off a meal.
deb ordered the risotto con funghi. i went with a pasta special: homemade ravioli stuffed with goat cheese. each ravioli was topped with a shaving of parmigiana reggiana and bathed in a light but flavorful pesto. portions were neither too big nor too small. nice.
two beers, two wines and the meal ran us $110 (including tax).
this was a pricey but good lunch. we'll be back to see what else they can do.
