sat night dinner suggestions

Denial Oct 5, 2007 04:45 PM

Going for dinner next week with another couple. I was thinking along the lines of Craft and Cru? Anything new that i need to try along those lines? Ive been to both and i know there must be someplace new worth trying.

I'm asking for next sat night so not worried about last min reservations.

      Marseille for Mediterranean
      Vice Versa for upscale Italian
      Esca for Seafood
      (all in theater district)

          Fresh Fish?
Why go any farther than Le Bernardin?

Also, if you don't mind junky looking digs, Tides Seafood on the LES should please you.

I strongly disagree with your description of Tides interior as "junky looking." Yes, the place is teensy, but the decor is minimalist modern, and the very unusual ceiling is amazing. I do agree that the food is excellent. All that said, if Denial is looking for a place like Cru and Craft, Tides is definitely not it! Le Bernardin is a better fit, but I'm not a fan.
