Pho in Orange County?

So its chilly outside and something about a big warm bowl of pho sounds great for dinner. Any ideas for good places in Orange County? Mainly Mission Viejo area would be great! ( I am willing to travel) Thanks!!

Likely better options to your north (Rowland Heights) than south (La Habra).

I like the Cha Gio and bun there as well.

I'll whole heartedly recommend Pho Bo Vang. That was my Viet stop of choice back when I was traipsing through Mission Viejo and the surrounding area.

When I was getting ready to visit relatives in MV I did this same search and Pho Bo Vang was on my list... and it happened to be right down the street from my hotel!! I asked some of the family about it and they said it is the best Vietnamese around. Sadly though, my schedule was pretty packed and didn't work with their hours. On my last day I was going to go there for lunch and as I checked out of the the hotel the power went out. Turns out it had also gone off at the restaruant so I didn't even get a chance to eat there. :(

Recently tried this place next to Nory's Peruvian #2 in Lake Forest, and I think it's the best pho in South County. Broth is beefy and flavorful, with a slight hint of star anise. Not too clovey.

I'd go back in a heartbeat whenever I don't want to schlep up to Little Saigon. It's way better than Pho Bac Ky in Irvine.

Weird. Thought I added a places tag to Pho Bo Vang.

Our family is Vietnamese, and my parents live down in Laguna Hills off Oso at the 5. The only place down here they go to for Pho is also Pho Bo Vang on Mercury, just across from the Black Angus restaurant. Otherwise, we make the schlep all the way out to Little Saigon.

So I also agree with your recommendation, Prof. Salt!

I 2nd the good Professor's rec. and his declaration that it's so much better than Pho Bac Ky which I didn't find good at all.

I will have to try this place, as I just tried Pho Bac Ky for the first time yesterday, and it was just ok. Certainly nowhere near being comparable to the Vietnamese food in Little Saigon. I found myself adding a lot of vinegar, chile sauce and fresh herbs to the pho broth just to give it some kick. That can't be so good. :-0
