Another Top Chef Finale Spoiler? Seriously??!!

After all the anger and criticism last year, I am shocked that Chow chose to advertise the Top Chef winner in a headline once again. Chowhound users have made an effort to not place spoilers in topic titles all season long. Don't you realize how many people watch these shows on DVR? Don't you understand how disappointing and frustrating it is to watch a show all season long, just to have the ending spoiled? It would be so easy to write a non-spoiler title, I just don't understand this at all.

After last year, I know to not even open Chowhound until I've watched Top Chef. But I feel sorry for those who had the ending ruined by your inconsiderate actions.

  1. Well, I understand that it's frustrating to come across the headline. Last season the problem was that the teaser appeared in the sidebar on the boards immediately after the show aired. (Ilan won, by the way.) This season the teaser was limited to the CHOW front page, which is a site about food news. Plus, it was posted almost 24 hours after the show aired. You can't swing a leg of lamb in the blogosphere today without coming across who won the show.

But I wasn't swinging a leg of lamb in the blogosphere. I was just at Chow's front page and the episode was completely spoiled for me. What would be so hard about writing "The Winner of Top Chef Reveals All" or something that didn't mention anyone's name?

not to mention for us canadians who are a month behind. It really is frustrating.
