Ciao Baby in Manchester, NH

EatOutAgain Oct 5, 2007 08:51 AM

I heard the place was opened. Has anyone gone to eat there? I peered through the window after they Bought Baldwin's. The interior looked tacky. Leppard print booths??!!

A group of people I know went to dine there and were very disappointed. Each bottle of wine ordered - they were told was sold out. They were all very frustrated. None were impressed by the food at all.

I checked out the website today and found nothing really. Most of the images are from istock images - LOL

Like I said I would like to hear of other people's experiance at Ciao Baby.

I went here the other night with a couple friends. The service was good except the waitress didn't know the difference between an entree and an appetizer...seriously...like she was really confused...She also became confused when we tried to order the prosciutto app. Apparently, prosciutto sounds like crab cake?. I don't know about this place. Totally ruined for me. Just my 2 cents. I miss Baldwin's.

I had the veal san marzano and my fiance had the chicken. The veal was ok, she really liked the chicken. We also shared a prosciutto app. The cheese was dry. Not good enough to bring me back.

It is a shame you will let this one instance sour you to such a nice place. I always give a restaurant a second chance unless there is something so repulsive or grating as to knock it to my "not unless I was starving and someone else was paying" category.

there has only been three instances where this has occurred, and one was so horrific to even think of it chafes my derriere.

thats too bad. It had a rough start but was shaping up to be a great restaurant- what manchester certainly needs more of. I had been there 3 times and each time I saw great improvement.

I just read in the hippo that they were closed for a little bit but are now having a grand reopening, so looks like they'll be back.

GREAT, I will make reservations. I am actually dying to see how they changed.

Funny, because they're featured in this month's New Hampshire magazine as one of NH's "hot" new restaurants.

I heard the food was really good actually. I hope it does not close.

Went in for apps and drinks to check it out. The calamari was your typical light fry with fra diavlo, but it was very good. Very few people in the place, yet I felt like I was imposing on them. Should be a bit more friendly.

They are brand new, give them a chance.

If a place is new and the room is busy, I expect the staff are ironing out wrinkles in service and the kitchen and cut the place a break. Sounds like they weren't busy, though, so all the more reason to expect better than "I felt like I was imposing" vibe.
