Great Fondue restaurant in Paris & Other

jackieparis Oct 4, 2007 07:35 PM

I'm looking for a good fondue restaurant (not touristy). I would like meat and cheese fondue options.

Also, do you have any recommendations for great reasonably priced bistros by Denfert Rochereau area?

Denfert: Le Vin des Rues, le Severo, Le bis du severo, La Regalade, La Cerisaie.

I don't know how it is now, but 7 years ago my husband and I wandered into a small, casual and reasonably-priced place in the 5th called Le Raccard, (19, rue Laplace). It was within easy walking distance from our hotel, the Residence Henri IV. The specialties of the house were raclette and fondue (both beef and cheese). I sincerely hope they're still in business because I'm looking forward to a return trip in December.

Sorry, that place folded some time ago.

For raclette and other cheese dishes you also have:

Les Raclettes (opposite of La Cerisaie and L'Opportun)
          17 Boulevard Edgar Quinet
M°: Edgar Quinet (not far from Denfert-R.)

Not yet been, but that may change with cooler temps.
