Upstate NY Road Trip - Need Dinner Recommendation

My friends and I are taking a road trip from Manhattan to Ithaca (280 to 80 to 380 to 81, etc.) Are there any good roadside diners or restaurants that aren't too far off the exit?

The short answer is that there isn't much along the way worth stopping for. I've done that drive dozens of times in the last few years and about the only thing I look forward to is a cup of coffee from Northern Lights in downtown Scranton. If you drive fast you can be in Ithaca in four hours...a decent food town once you are there (search for other threads).

Thanks anyway. We won't get into Ithaca till midnight, so we were hoping to eat along the way. Cornell alum, so know all about the food options once we get there -- never thought twice about highway food until now!

Don't know how long ago you graduated, but just to note that Dijon Bistro opened during the past year.

Are you looking to eat along the way or once you get to Ithaca?

You may want to post this on the TriState Board.

Don't know about spots along the way, but when you get to Ithaca, you might want to check out Dijon Bistro. Though I've not been, the couple who own it previously owned a very similar place in Montclair, NJ, called Epernay. Mark Papera is a terrific chef, he's pretty much duplicated the Epernay menu at Dijon, Mark Papera is a terrrific chef, so I have no doubt that the food will be just as delicious.
