Where is the $7 burger?
I'm sure we've all noticed the trend in high end restaurants making high end burgers, but what happened to the good burgers out there at reasonable prices. Do they still exist? Could you tell me where I could find one?

I know some may disagree, but I love the burgers at Bullfeathers next to the House office buildings on Capitol Hill. My fav is the bull burger with coleslaw, russian dressing, and melted cheese. The also have a blue cheese and grilled onion burger that is really good.

I ate at Urban Burger in Rockville on Saturday, it was the best burger (bar none) I have had in the region, i ordered it mid-rare and it came out mid-rare. The bun is a brioche style roll made from Uptown Bakers (I asked the Chef). They cut their own fries and the draft root beer hit the spot. A plain burger is 5.50, I added the Bleu Bayou style for a buck.(bleu, bacon, bourbon sauce)

8 oz lean angus done right at Jimmy's in Herndon - $7.25. However I'll note they used to put more attention to the burgers (build them out yourself was a notable portion of the menu), and I've since discovered the beef on weck, so it's hard for me to order the burgers there now.

Here is a link to my post on Joe's Burgers a few weeks ago. At $8.95, it's over your price limit, but that price includes cheese and fries.
This place is a cut above the Five Guys and a cut below the burgers in the Post article, although, as I note, you can get some interesting things there.
No other bar food, though, like at Sign of the Whale. So you have to go intending to get a burger. Better than Sign of the Whale in my opinion.

The Stoneyburger is around $7.50. Sign of the Whale's about the same.
The trick is to find out which night is half price burger night.

Ugh, I'm glad someone else feels the same way. When I read the WaPo's burger round up I thought who the hell pays nearly $20 for a burger?. When did this humble backyard bbq and dive delight get hijacked by pedigreed chefs?
I am going to do a little comparison of my own to see....Meanwhile, I enjoy burgers from Union St. Public House, Southside 815 and even the Premium burgers at Ruby Tuesdays. All $9 at most.

True. I lived in bmore for 5 years and one of the highlights of that city is the barfood (wings, burgers, onion rings, etc). But now I live in DC and it's hard to find here. I go to bmore enough to want to find out about new places, so if you are from there feel free to let me know where i can find the best reasonably priced burger.

My favorite burgers in Baltimore are at Mother's. And Tuesdays is 1/2 price burger night, which is a seriously amazing deal - the burgers are $7 regularly, so $3.50 on Tues! They are one of the only places I've found that will always cook a burger Med Rare. Plus even the turkey burgers are great (especially with topped with feta).
