Best Barbecue in Philly area?

I am craving barbecue, and would like to try some place new this wknd. I am looking for a place to sit down (not necessarily nice though as long as they have excellent food), and am willing to travel a bit out of city. I'll probably order ribs so any suggestions you have for places with excellent ribs would be appreciated! Thanks!

In Bucks County, we have Duck Deli. Duck refers to the other location, Duck, North Carolina. Their pulled pork is very good.

For ribs, I haven't found anywhere better than The Rib Crib on Germantown Ave.

Bridgeport Rib House has excellent ribs, tasty sides, and a hot and honey BBQ sauce that'll knock your socks off.

We love Abner's,too. The location on Ogontz sometimes has beef ribs and they are terrific.

                Another vote for Sweet Lucy.\

I think their baby backs are very nice, I also like their brisket

Depending on the kind of eating you want to do, their is another chain location, what the heck is it called ... oh, Big Ed's in Burlington NJ, half an hour from downtown Philly via I 95. Under $20 all you can eat and a good assortment of beer.

I know its a chain but Famous Dave's in Springfield has good food...ribs are awesome, so is cornbread, pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken, etc.

Just so you know, there is another Famous Dave's location in Philadelphia, on Columbus Boulevard. We ate there once with a friend because it was convenient to what we were doing that day, and we all also thought it was good for a chain. I haven't yet eaten at any of the other places, though, to be able to compare.

Fat Jack's on Egg Harbor Rd in Washington Twp (15 minutes over the WWB) has excellent pork ribs, beef ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Sides are very good as well. We regularly get the 4 meat combo, and it is enough for 2 adults. http://www.fatjacks.net/menu.html

My buddy and I did the all-you-can-eat deal last Monday at Sweet Lucy's. It was pretty good. I over ate on the pulled pork, beef and chicken. Good cornbread and Keilbasa. The ribs were ok. It's tough to have good ribs on a buffet line so if you go for ribs, I would order them instead and see how they are. I was fat and happy after my meal there. Good stuff.

JP Dawson's in Drexel Hill on rte 1 has rib night on Monday's as well. It is very good and they give you a ton of food and sides.

I high hopes for Pig Daddy's but everytime I have gone, their food has been average at best. I still have not tried Tommy Gunn's yet.

i used to live right near the south street tommy gunns, so i've eaten there a bunch of times. eaten at the one by manyunk/east falls once.

enh. i mean, it was good food for food that was 2 blocks away, but i really didn't consider it destination food.

Sweet Lucy's! You have to get in line to order, but you can be seated and then pick up your order. There's a big roll of paper towels on each table, which you will need!

Try Sweet Lucy's in North Philly. It's an easy drive from the city. You can sit down or do take-out. It's also a byob.
