This interview was posted a few days ago but I just saw it today, really funny. Hung is still Hung.

About the judge's complaints that his cooking isn't expressive enough, he said "What does that mean, when [Colicchio] says 'We don't see Hung.'? What should I do, make sweet and sour chicken and wontons? I'm trained in French food. I love French food. That is me."

Thanks for the link to the article.
Hung is pretty humorous. Also, as they like saying on Top Chef, "on point".
I bet he does make pretty good sweet and sour chicken and fresh spring rolls.

I'm totally on Hungs side. Why can't they see him beyond his skin color? The judges are being a bit racist IMO. And for the contestants who b*tch and rant about Hung being selfish, what do they expect? This is a competition! Do they expect Hung to deliver their prize too?? You think the runners in the Olympics slow down their pace so the others can catch up together??? There is only ONE winner!
Team Hung!

Case in point: one of the contestant showed his cowboy side, and look where it got him.

In terms of the competition, I found it interesting, humorous and probably a smart move that Hung set up his "kitchen" in a different location from Casey and Dale's where he had his own space to focus and not be bothered by the other contestants being around him. It shows that Hung had a very comprehensive game plan way beyond just the food.

He was himself through every episode where he only relied upon himself and didn't need, or use as a crutch, the help of the other contestants.

I believe in Rocco's Blog. Rocco stated that Hung probably could have completed the final challenge by himself.

I'm Asian, and didn't think they were ever racist toward Hung. I could see how Hung could rub people the wrong way, even though I'm glad he won.

Race, personality, and niceness aside, Hung just out-cooked everyone else and the judges made the right choice this time. They'll never live down the Ilan disaster of the last season in my book, though.

i just finally had a chance to read this, and i definitely have a newfound respect for the guy.

he's freaking hi-larious.

oh, and more importantly. he's RIGHT. everything he said was valid.

i know it's impractical and it would never happen, but this is the kind of insight that would be useful for viewers during the season. i never questioned hung's skills, it was bravo's portrayal of his demeanor [read: ego] that i had such a hard time swallowing. but had i been privy to something like this earlier on, i might have been a member of 'team hung' after all.

I am so happy that Hung won!! Team Hung all the way! The finale was fun- I did miss the lack of drama, because for the most part the three cheftestants liked each other- no Tiffani's or Marcel v. Ilan showdowns.

This interview is great ! I loved his mix of smugness and dedication. Very talented and funny.

I saw this same interview somewhere else. I read it before the finale and thought it was hilarious. But, I have to say during the finale, he seemed to be trying too hard to make Asian food when he specifically said there that French was more him. This disappointed me a bit.

I had the same reaction since CJ never really got me excited. I will also say I've never understood the Hung haters - he's been funny all season long, he has that infection grin and yeah, he's not a team player but this isn't a team sport. I can't wait to eat at his high end place (and his low end ones that he's planning for that matter) - when he opens it (them).

go Hung!
