I am going totally NUTS - one of those e-mail newsletters I get recently had a piece on a scanner you put on the fridge or in the kitchen that scans your items as you run out and then you can print out a shopping list for the market - I NEED this and can not find the dang e-mail that tells me the name of the product. HELP!

KarenNYC -- Try "googling" "Refrigerator Scanner." You will secure several results...hopefully the one you are looking for. Yes?

"Refrigerator scanner" didn't work. "kitchen inventory barcodes" and a little bit of sleuthing found me the Intelliscanner, which sounds exactly like what you're looking for. It's really spiffy, but at $250 for the one you can leave in the kitchen, I think I'll go with a notepad stuck to the fridge.

If any of you are still hanging on to those silly CueCat scanners that Radio Shack gave away in the late 1990s, you might be able to work it for this

If the Cue Cats work, there are lots on ebay.
