It's right across the street from the True Value Hardware, about a block down (on the opposite side of the street) from the Brigham's, and right next door to D'Agostino's Deli. It's in the building that clearly used to be a Long John Silver's.

Be sure to budget enough time for browsing, because it's a pretty endlessly fascinating store. Also, pick up a couple boxes of the Diamond kosher salt while you're there: at around $1.99 a box, it's far cheaper than they sell it at any of the local supermarkets!

It's also down the street from Lakota Bakery and across the street (sort of) from Something Savory.

Note: Penzey's closes really early, 5 or 530 pm.

What is it with these spice shops and their hours? Christinas closes pretty early as well.

I just end up ordering stuff from thespicehouse.com (same family as Penzey's, but I like that they seem more 'mom & pop' then Big P) because I can never make it to either of those spots when their open

When they first opened, the Arlington Penzey's pretty much followed the mother ship located in Wisconsin, I believe. They wanted their workers to get home to families for dinner.

While that's still the case (closing @ 5 or 5:30 on weeknights), the Arlington store is now open on Sundays as well as Saturdays (has been for awhile). http://www.penzeys.com/cgi-bin/penzeys/penzeysstores.html?id=f6jeXTfq
