Best Chinese food in Flushing

egbluesuede Oct 2, 2007 01:31 PM

At the end of October, I'm visiting a friend who lives on Long Island, and we plan on hitting some good Chinese restaurants for the weekend. He suggested Flushing, so I was curious if any Chowhounders can give me tips on where to go? We're looking for dinner Friday night, dimsum on Saturday, and perhaps even a Thai resturant on Sunday. Any suggestions would be apprecaited. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'll bet I can't go too wrong with any of them. I can't wait! I'll post my feedback when I get back. Thanks again!

Although I have yet to try it myself (my go-to place is Sripraphai), I've been curious about Green Papaya, 38-12 Prince Street, since it re-opened. It would be great to have a tasty Thai place in the neighborhood--let us know if you try it!

Some dinner suggestions, all near the subway Main St. station.

Sichuan -- Spicy& tasty, Little Pepper
Eclectic northern, but all lamb -- a fan ti
Cantonese -- Imperial Palace, Ocean Jewel, Corner 28 (upstairs)

For a first time, I'd go with Spicy & Tasty or Imperial Palace or Corner 28. And don't forget to have a look at the malls at 41-28 adn 41-82 Main Street!

I don't know dim sum. I think the best Thai place is Sripraphai in Woodside, there aren't any in Flushing. Lots of Korean in Flushing, though.

I give Little Pepper the edge over Spicy & Tasty. I agree wholeheartedly on Imperial Palace, but I must give Ocean Jewel a try.
