Fish n chips near Van Nuys

I'm looking for a good place to get fish n chips in or near Van Nuys. I'm a big fan of Andria's in Ventura, and Mr. Fish n Chips in Simi, but I might like to find a pub-like place to go, that would be nice.

There's a fish 'n chips place on Saticoy next to the BCD Tofu House. I've never been, but it looked worthy of further investigation. I'm blanking on the name, but the address for the BCD Tofu House (which shares the same parking lot) is 18044 Saticoy St, Reseda, CA 91335. Anyone been there?

Does anyone know if kids are allowed at Robin Hoods?

Yes, as long as the restaurant is still open. I took my 5-month-old daughter to The Olde Ship yesterday and there wasn't an issue.

I second Robin Hood -- I think I'll have the fish-n-chips for lunch today. Parenthetically, they have some pretty interesting daily specials that are always worth looking into...not necessarily fish-n-chips.

I tried this place the other Sunday. Fish very, very good, chips kind of limp. Service not ultra rapid, or maybe it just seemed so because I was hungry.

You must've been on a limp chip day. Mine have always been perfect. then I make 'em limp with tons of malt vinegar and salt! :)

Ah yes, malt vinegar -- you still can't get the limp chips up but at least you don't care!

Well, maybe the chips got tired waiting for the fish... When I go back, though, I intend to try the other goodies.

Oooh, yes! Toad in the hole, scotch eggs, cornish pasty, steak and kidney pie, curry pie, plowman's lunch, or their simple tea. Great stuff. The desserts are also amazing. Get the golden cake with lyles syrup in custard. MMMMMMMMMM

I love Robin Hood. Their Sunday roast beef dinner is great too.

Yeah, it's called a treacle sponge pudding, you gotta have it.

Here's an example of one..but I don't think it's from Robin hood. Theirs is very similar.
