Whidbey Island Red Velvet Cake?

A friend told us that she had the best red velvet cake on Whidbey Island. Can anyone tell me where a bakery is on the island that makes it? From what I understand, it's a speciality. We'd like to bring a cake back for our friend.

I don't know of a bakery that makes "cakes" per se -- and I've live here since '75. The only bakery on South Whidbey is in Langley, DeMartinis. John Auburn makes fab wedding/birthday cakes (he made Bill-Melinda Gates among others). He no longer has a storefront presence, but go to www.jwdesserts.com.
