I'm getting together with 2 former co-workers for dinner on Thursday evening. One prefers midtown, convenient to Grand Central. We haven't seen each other in years so we'd prefer a place not too noisy with a simple menu. Any suggestions?

    1. Cibo on 2nd Avenue and 41st Street has a delightful, low key (and quiet) ambience and very good food. Their prix fixe is one of the best deals around.

      1. Both choices are great in terms of food and lack of noise level. Different price points though. L'impero is more expensive and Cibo is more casual. I like both and it just depends on your budget.
