Agency Christmas Party on a Monday night

SLO Oct 2, 2007 07:07 AM

I'm looking for a venue for my not-for-profit agency Christmas party. There will be about 60 people and we need to limit the cost to about 30/person. We are located in SoHo but can travel anywhere in the city.

Staff taste runs the spectrum from Vegetarian to General Tso's to Per Se. Although I hate to say it, I think quantity is more important than quality for this diverse group. We'd like a fun venue .. maybe a bar with a pool table?

Suggestions welcome....

Does that $30pp budget include alcoholic beverages, tax & gratuity?

Unfortunately it does include alcohol (we would probably be better with a BYOB - rules out bars I guess).

BYO's? Unlike NJ where BYO's proliferate (because liquor licenses are severely limited and *very*!!! expensive), there are not many true BYO's in Manhattan.

The only place that comes to mind with a quite reasonable food option is Trattoria Trecolori, on 47th St., b/t B'way & 8th. The homestyle Italian food served there is very tasty, their private room can accommodate 60+, and they offer a buffet for $25pp. Unfortunately, that does not include drinks, tax and tip. If you were able to boost the budget to $35-$40pp, I think Trecolori might be doable.
