Any recommendations for Soup Dumplings in Sacramento or Davis?

If you are referring to the Shanghainese specialty, some of the dim sum places have them. Try New Canton. Also Tapioca Cafe on Freeport. But I don't think they make their own, more like frozen re-steamed. First Choice on 16th used to have Shanghainese dim sum on weekends, I don't know if they still do.

Yeah--the Shanghainese thing...is there a Shanghai food place around here? Its not dim sum...

First Choice, but I don't know if they still serve Shanghai dim sum (not Cantonese dim sum) on weekends. Tapioca Cafe is Taiwanese. New Canton is Cantonese, but they do have soup dumpling for lunch.

Are you looking for a store to buy soup dumplings, or are you interested in a restaurant with soup dumplings on the menu?

As for the latter, I recently had and extrordinary chicken consume with duplings at Hawk's. The soup had amazing richness and depth.

I think hlf is referring to the new place in Roseville. It's not the Chinese soup dumpling, but rather dumplings in a soup.
