SOBE Food and Wine Festival

Hi everyone, just took a look at their events details. Unfortunately, they did not list the restaurants participating in the grand tasting villages. Does anyone know if it is listed elsewhere or have the insiders tips on what restaurants are participating?

  1. It seems that as the event gets closer, they list who is participating. Just about all the good places do. Its really worth while.

    1. Tickets went on sale today! I already ordered mine.

Same. I had some difficulty doing so this morning w/ pages not working. I'll be attending the Saturday Grand Tasting w/ my wife... $411 is somewhat pricey, but i guess given the crowds last year, the demand is there.

We are doing the Bubble Q and the Grand Tasting too. Grand total of 1068.21!!! But we do enjoy it! Can't wait!

I absolutely agree, and for that much I really wish I knew what restaurants were participating on each day so that I could choose the one more to my liking. Oh well.

I just got mine too...but the website is not working very well. I had to try it about 10 times before the site actually worked for me.

Last year the Grand Tasting was amazing!!! I can't wait to go again.

I like the bourbon and tequila tastings at 11AM-also the cocktail classes with Dale DeGroff and Tony Abu-G. The food and wine-tasting events seem wildly expensive, and not that interesting. Now's the time to remember that you're in the 'trade'!

          3. Try this more direct link to the ticket purchasing page:

2 events are sold out already.

The Grand Tasting on Sat is already sold out! I am glad I got tickets today.

            2. As of this morning, only a day since things went on sale, 4 events are sold out. I cannot believe things are selling so quickly this year.

I bought my tickets to the grand tasting (sat) last year about 2 weeks after they went on sale.

                1. re: sprmario

I always buy them the day they go on sale only because it marked on my calender. Do you think they are releasing only a little a time or did these events really all sell out in less than a day?

                  1. re: Suzie

i've noticed twice now that events have shown sold out... and then shown later as being available.

The sat grand tasting was the only event i was planning on going to, so i'm glad i bought early if it is sold out.

              2. Did anyone go to the Burger Bash last year? We love a good burger, but can't imagine how $150 per person could be justified by a burger tasting. Love to know what it entailed (like were there foie gras burgers?)

I heard the Burger Bash was good last year. The only complaint I heard last year was that during the BubbleQ, they ran out of champagne half-way through the event, not good!

                  1. re: butrfli1227

Yep, they ran out around 9pm but it was still a great event and I am going to go again this year.

                  2. re: YosemiteSam

Guess my question is moot as it already sold out! Jeez, that many people are ready to spring $150 for burgers? :)

Maybe it is the Rachel Ray connection that brings them in so hot and heavy, I have a feeling she could sell out an event titled "poop sandwiches" for $99 a head.
