Dinner near park st/boylston
Hi there ...
Meeting some family members for dinner near park/boylston and I'm in charge of figuring out the venue. Thought I'd bounce this hear for some ideas.
- Said family members aren't particularly adventurous (so chinatown would be out, for instance)
- It really does need to be in that general vicinity. I don't mind walking 15-20 minutes, but they don't exactly have their "urban shoes" on when coming in to the city
- Not higher end/expensive/etc
Really the only two places that I've ever eaten at in that immediate area for dinner have been Silvertone and Fajitas & Ritas. Also, Foleys over at Downtown Xing but that's going to be too much of a bar scene (which I don't mind, but they would).
As it turned out it was lunch w/ only half of them and I talked them into giving dim sum a shot (these are people where chinese food begins w/ pu pu platter and ends with a fortune cookie). I was afraid that they wouldn't really care for it but they loved it (went to hei la moon). So we all left happy :)
How not adventurous are they? Maggiano's Little Italy is a standby by for difficult to please people while on a budget. It's surprising decent and affordable red sauce Italian, also you can do "family style" dining for like $30/person. It's on Arlington and Columbus near the Park Plaza, about a five minute walk, if that, from the Arlington St. T stop.
